 Drones From The Turbine

The band was formed sometime in may '09. All i can say about the band is that we're a bunch of peace-trippers who got together with not-so-shiny instruments and started making music. It was more of a spontaneous act rather than a written and composed masterpiece. We just liked plugging in our guitars and playing, so that's what we do. Anand, the vocalist and rhythm guiatrist and myself(Pranav) have been jamming for quite a while now, but only recently did some of our old friends, Jaydev and Nithin joined us on guitars to form Drones from the Turbine. We approached Abhinav from Inner Sanctum for percussions and some seriousness as well. But due to his ear problems, doctors have curbed his jamming time and he wanted to concentrate on inner sanctum more. Aditya, Pk's schoolmate, stepped up to play drums and was the last piece in the puzzle. He used to drum for his college band in St. Josephs while in PUC, after which he had stopped drumming.

The band has played unplugged sessions at Barista and also played at the record-breaking rockathon that happened in the city last week apart from the Bulls-Unplugged session that happened at Opus.

Induvidually, the band influence ranges between Gojira and John Coltrane but as a band we play a sound of psychedellia with a hint of overdrive.
